How do you create a square slider like the colour chooser

Hey, I'm creating an automatic facial rigging tool. I want to create a window with interactive sliders that control the blend shapes.

Creating a slider is easy, but I wish to create a square with a control in the middle which you can drag around and in turn, control the blend shapes connected to it (similar to the color chooser). Look below for Victor Vinyals face rig, which is what I want to create.

As of yet, I have no idea how to do this so any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Well you dont. Not with mel anyway. You can trick maya a by making viewports  with the stuff on them but its ugly. Likewise ts possible to trik a drag and drop handler to do the same thing but use viewports everybody else does too..

Use pyQt or pySide (pySide is better as they included it in maya 2014 by default, finally)
