How Does Digital Fusion Rate In London? Help!

Hi guys,

I'm wondering how Digital Fusion rates in Europe, specifically London! I have just started with a small studio here in Australia and moving to live in London and hoping to work in compositing. I have heard many people say that SHAKE is the dominating force there - any comments on this!

I'm not new to compositing, i have moved over form extensive work in AE in addition with a few years in Maya so love the node based architecture. However my Compositing experience is limited to low-end projects until now. Given my relocation in 8months, have i chosen the correct package to be learning?

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly welcomed!

Hi Nick,

Yes, many company's in London are using Shake but given the fact Apple is no longer developing it we are probably going to see a shift over the next 12 - 18 month.

The two big desktop Compositing apps are Fusion and Nuke and I would suggest that Fusion will win out, though Nuke is a fine Compositing tool.

If I was you I would learn Shake first and then Fusion as there are more openings for Shake in Soho than Fusion at the mo, that may change through over the next year or two.
