Hey everyone. My name is Tim. I'm new here on this forum. I graduated from college last year with a visual arts degree and have been having a lot of trouble finding jobs in the 3D industry. I feel that my skills simply aren't enough to really get the attention of game companies or movie companies(especially the ones that require years of experience). For the past year I've been doing computer jobs and IT stuff. But those things really don't interest me at all. I am considering going back to school and to learn more about the 3D field and improve my skills, maybe a masters program or a one year program. But after looking at a few schools and being shocked at how much they are charging for tuition, I'm starting to have second thoughts. I asked a few of my friends who are in the field and they would not tell me how much they make. So I am wondering how much a 3D artist really makes, and whether going back to school would be a worthy investment. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I am really at a crossroads here and not sure what to do.
