Hi,
I have a few questions for you experts in Maya. Sorry if these is a
newbie/obvious question - I am learning Maya 2.0.
1) Say I create a cylinder-like shape by lofting a few curves. The resultant
loft surface has open ends like an open-ended cylinder. What is the
best way to cap an open end? I would like the cap to be a smooth continuation
of the surface, similar to a bevel, only closed.
The surface is closed in the U direction, but open in the V. I tried creating
a planer surface based on the end isoparm. But, I can't seem to get the
planer surface to attach - the edge of the planer surface is not considered
an isoparm, but a trimmed curve. The only way I found is to blend between
the planer surface and the original cylinder-like surface - but what a pain.
2) I tried using Artisan to smooth a model I had created with multiple
surfaces stitched together. When smoothing, it rips the seams between
the surfaces. Any way to prevent this?
3) Can you attach 2 surfaces at a T-junction? If so how?
Thanks!
Jeff
