How To Change Temp Directory/disk

Hi!

I haven't found a solution on the forum, so I am trying a post. I am rendering a huge scene and now my computer has had enough. It looks like I am running out of available memory on disk while trying to render. I see in the renderlog that it is defaulting to c: and I need to change it to another drive.
I am trying to follow the manual on changing the tempdrive but I simply can't get it to work.

I have beein in the the control panel / systems / advanced / environment variables and tried changing it in there but that didn't work.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Are you useing mr standalone?!?!? or do you mean system swap?

Not sure what you mean, but I am batch rendering withthe Maya Software option. And this is the error I am getting:

Postprocessing rendering result.
WarniGlobalAllocng: Unable to write to render swap file C:/DOCUME~1/Krillo/LOCALS~1/Temp/MS.72c, no error.
: No error
Error: Free memory is low. Memory exception thrown

Ahh yes it respects the temp and tmp variables. However this is unless defied in the environment of your XP its defined by your profile in wich case you mey need to do some modifications to your profile settings. Sometimes they are locked in the rpofile settings but then you heva no other option than to alter the policy (but then you must be admin).

ALSO PLEASE NOTE: environment is inherited so if you change something there NO change happens untill you restart the applications anew after the change otherwise they just have the env they had whan starting up.

Thanks, you seem to know what you are talking about although I feel some of it is passing over me
Could you point me to the right direction to look for the profile settings for example, where do I alter that (or the policy). I am my own admin so that is no problem.
