Hi there, I have a question that is modeling, rendering and animation related but the assets will be a paint effects on curves so I thought I would start here.
I am attempting to make a scene that portrays a spreading network of the mycellium. Mycellium is a fibrous network of Fungi that live in the soil. It spreads and connects to itself in many directions. It resembles all sorts of different things like neurons, hair, bacterium etc.
I was looking for some general advice on how to proceed. Right now I am using PaintFX on stroked curves to animate it's growth outward from a central point using the min clip and max clip channels within the brush settings. I also need them to twitch slightly as they move outward and maybe even use some sort of electron microscope shader composited on top.
Anyway, if anyone has any technical solutions that leap to mind I would be deeply appreciative. I am going to continue to post my progress here over the next week.
