How To Do A Simple Aftereffects-style Echo?

Hi. How can I do an effect that shows a number of previous frames, mixed together like this (for example)

current frame 100%
current frame-1 75%
current frame-2 50%
current frame-3 25%

and so on...

I can do it (just about) by using 4 identical fileIn nodes and 4 time nodes, and then some kinda mixer, but it's not very practical if i want to do, say, a 50 frame echo. This is such a basic effect!

Any ideas?
