Can anyone help me understand how to make a blood-streak material that appears on a gear and gradually wraps all the way around until it becomes one solid, contiguous streak? Think Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom...and a million other movies where some unfortunate person is pulled between two giant machine gears.
Any and all thoughts are appreciated.
Just a quick idea. Might work, might not work.
You can animate Texture UV's within Max, basically by key-framing them.
Could you put on a texture, then scale it (key frame) as the cogs rotate to stretch out the texture.
That might work...
