How to make slow motion in Maya?

Hi there,

I made an animation with 25 fps but I want to render one part of the animation in slow motion. Is there a useful option in Maya to achieve this effect without having to reposition all keyframes?

well...couldn't you just pull it into a compositing package and slow it down...or I guess you could copy every frame 3 times...like...turn frame.001 into frame.002 and frame.003...just play the same frame over and over again until you move to the next one?

Try this:
render.exe -s 1 -e 100 -b 0.5 foo.mb

the animation should be half the speed...
i never tested this but it should work. i hope this helps.

Either select all your frames in the graph editor and scale them to slow down the animation.
Or use something like Realviz Reatimer to slow it down in post.

In the render globals there is a setting that controls how many images are rendered per frame.
Its called "By Frame".. so if you have 100 frames, and you set
by frame to 0.5 you'll end up with 200 images, if you make a movie out of that at your normal fps.. you should have it at half speed.
