How to move the default 'My Documents/maya' folder

I want to have that folder on a different drive, not in my 'My Documents' folder on the c: drive. How can i move that? Is that something within maya itself? Or is it something i can do outside of maya, and it will work fine. Provided i set the projects right within maya itself?

right click on my documents on the desktop choose properties.

Or move the users home directory somewhere else!

I sort of get it, but it still doesn't wuite answer my questions i think. I want to no longer have the 'maya' directory showing up in the My Documents folder, but rather have it stationary on a seperate drive, not on my c:

Any other suggestions wether in or out of maya?

Set the environment variable: "USERPROFILE" or "MAYA_APP_DIR" to wherever you want the directory to be.
