hi! What about Delete Edge command? Its quite smart with that kind of stuff and will delete those Vertices!

"To Contained Edges" is an awesome command. I had no idea that was possible, and it's exactly what I was looking for.
Unfortunately, when I attempt to use To Contained Edges > Delete Edge, a couple vertices get left behind. I have no idea why "Delete Edge" isn't removing them. Here's what "To Contained Edges" does:
And here's what "Delete Edge" does, leaving the two vertices that I've circled:
Any idea why these two vertices might be getting left behind, or how I might get rid of them using MEL?
