Hi,
Usually when I render an image with alpha channel, it always comes with black/white outline when I comp it. Does anyone know how to get rid of this black/white outline thing when rendering with alpha channel?
sounds like you are misinterpreting the alpha in your compositing program. Are you using After Effects? By default Maya outputs premultiplied alphas. You will get halos if you import them as straight. You will also get halos if you import as premult but have a white background instead of the default black. AE will let you pick a different color if that's the case.
Thank you for answering my question.Yes, I'm using AE. The thing is I don't want any halo. Is there any way that I can get rid of those halos, no matter white or black?
well I sort of explained it in my first post. You need to right click on the sequence in the project window and then select interpret footage and then try changing the settings there as I describe above.
or just tell maya to not premultiply alpha... just look in the render globals, there is "premultiply on/off" switch there.Bye
I got it. Thank you so much.
