How to "unsmooth" polygons

I am new to polygon modeling in maya and was wondering when I smooth something to see how it looks, how do i go about unsmoothing it?

Hi. If it's too late to just undo the smoothing operation, you'll want to delete the polySmoothFace node. To do this, pick your model, open the Hypergraph, choose Graph > Input Connections. This will show you all of the inputs to the current model. Select the polySmoothFace node and hit delete.
