Would it be possible to do this in XSI: http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/~gibsons/images/light.jpgI mean, it was obviously rendered using some kind of Global Illumination, but the light source is an object (the rgb-colored plane) and in XSI objects can't emit photons, which are needed if you want Global Ill.If FG was used, then the plane could work as a light source, but then the light would not bounce the way it does here, so what would you do?
I hope my question makes sense

You can use FG and GI together. Also you can always place an area light on the surface you want to emit photons.
Well, I'm not sure FG alone will enough. FG is good for simulating indirect illumination, but it has no range, and doesn't bounce. So you don't really have to choice of adding a light and using GI in combination with FG. However, I suggest you make tests with FG alone before, maybe it could work
