HW render to After Effects or Premiere?

I HW rendered some particles with the alpha set as "luminance" in Maya. Now my question is, does anyone know how to composite the frames in AE or Premiere so that I can delete the alpha and keep my particles without them losing color or anything? I dont know what I'm doing wrong

Have you tried the different multiplication settings for the particles sequence?

I'm not sure what you mean... how will this help me in AE? Would you be willing to go a little in depth with your suggestion?

When you import a sequence in After Effects, you are prompted to specify the alpha channel interpretation. You can choose Ignore, unmatted (unpremultiplied) and premultiplied with alpha.

To change this setting, right click on the sequence the project window and choose Interpret Footage > Main.

There you can change the alpha interpretation.
