1. Do animations shown on a reel need a plot (a story) or a scenario
Not really, not the kind of what movies consist of. But the kind of plot whats not on a typical script such as how the emotion pours out how weight reacts etc is a important part of a aimators job. How thinsg become alive.

2. Should any story put on a reel be show in its entirety, or only shown in a clip?
Clip, only show a vrey short thing. Your not doing a studio reel here just something that showcases your abilities. If you cant show off things in 10 seconds your dead.

3. Is character animation seen as separate in most big companies?
Depends on studio, mostly yes.

4. If I want to specialize in just character animation, do my modeling, texturing and rendering have to be at high quality?
No if you can make a stick figure lovable then thats enough. If you can make a box look alive even better.
IN fact i find these simple models usually show animation skill better, and that is what your after not how to do a mediocre character. It would be different if you were a character maker.

5. What are some recommendation to put on a character animation reel?
Just show of best animation, never any second grade stuff. Probably not straight simple lipsych unless you can show off emotion and very exagerated movements in eyes and lips etc.

6. The next few questions about "Dynamics", is particles and rigid body and cloth dynamics, considered the same field?
Yes, because the tools you sue for dynamics depend on what gets it done so much by the job you do. If writing a custom built renderer is the only way then so be it.

7. What would I show on a Dynamic Effects reel? and do they need to be shown in some type of context?
Never seen a good one, except for very big studio reels. Do something that looks amazing. Dont do something i can find a tutorial on, i mean if you do do it 100 times better the ok be my guest.
