Icontextbutton question (2)

Hey...
soo... trying to make this icon textbutton thing work and running into a few problems..

I want to give it a color but I am on either mac or linux so the bgc flag doesn't work... is there another way to just assign it a color? I've tried using the image flag and just making a few different colored images it can use, but then the problem is that if I try and assign a label to it, the image covers the label up. 

Also in mac i've noticed if I try and make a bg image for the ui and say enable false it will still prohibit a button I put on top of it from working so is there a way to kinda layer icontextbuttons? like always on top kinda thing?...

Not in mel.

Thing is you cant really do this in mel no matter how hard you try. However in maya 2011 you CAN use QT for this. But then again its not a very big loss since color coding is quite bad way of encoding GUI stuff anyway (psychologists know it is in fact the least preferable way*). Use different kind of grouping

*so unless you reinforce it with something else its not very good to begin with. Maybe adequate if you use a very limited palette of red green blue and yellow tough

Yeah I'm still using 2009.  Ah ok so if i stay with the images then do you know how it would be possible to display both the image and the label? I can only see the label when I'm dragging the button to its place and then it disappears under the image.  Thanks so much
