Hi there,
i need help regarding using IK vis-a-vis lights.
here i will explain in detail
I have a polygonal lamp created.
I have build a skeleton and applied IK handle solver.
I have smooth binded the skeleton to the lamp.
The lamp works perfectly as i desire.
I have created a sphere which is the bulb and grouped it with the lamp and the sphere moves accordingly with the lamp as desired.
Now i want to attach a spotlight to the bulb so that when i twist and turn around the lamp the spotlight sholud move along with the bulb and the lamp throwing light wherever it goes.
I have tried the following things and failed.
a)Point/Orient contsrained the spotlight with the sphere.(Failed)
b)Point/Orient contsrained the spotlight with the lamp.(Failed)
c)Point/Orient contsrained the spotlight with the Joints.(Failed)
d)Point/Orient contsrained the spotlight with the IK handle.(Failed)
e)Used locator for constraining the spot light.(Failed)
f)Used connection Editor to link the Translate and Rotate of spotlight with Sphere and lamp subsequently.
Probably thers another way out for this or somewhere i am fumbling in my way.
I dont mind if u have any new idea of doing it after all its Maya and u can create ur own way of doing things.
