Implicit Node......anyone?

Hi everyone,

while rigging i stumbled on a command line writtrn as : createNode implicitSphere;

On which it creates a non-renderable & spherical gizmo, which doesnot have a component mode e.g CV's..etc.

Though it has a transform node which is utilized as ctrls for a chrctr.....

All i need is some spotlight on the IMPLICIT NODE command which i have looked into the help file, but in vain....

Kindly hint me as to where can i find the above said.....

Also, aftr creating a sphere by typing "createNode ImplicitSphere;".... i wrote the same line again but replaced sphere with Cube.... BUT the outcome was an unknown node showing in the hypergraph.

I would request you'll to type this in the command line "createNode implicitSphere;" so as to get an idea as to what m trying to say.

Nodes are decribed in the node reference (you can find this in the manual hit f1), heres a list of all the implicit nodes and their attributes:

so theres 3 implicit nodes, sphere, cube and cone, they are used for various things such as gizmo's for fog etc. etc.

You can allways use any geometry with reference flag on instead.

mayas case sensitive so createNode ImplicitSphere and createNode implicitSphere are different things. Normal maya nodes always start their name with a small letter. And indeed theres a implicitCube available but its called implicitBox. If you want to affect the nodes name call:

createNode -name "foo" implicitBox
