Hello
I ordered a model from Turbosquid. It was built in 3DS Max, and I guess it has multiple shaders applied to one mesh. I have never worked this way, so I'm, new to this.
I have one master object that has one mesh. I cannot ungroup or separate it any more than it already is. If I go to my hypershade and right'click > right side > "select objects with material", then the faces are selected that use that specific shader.
What is the best way to separate these faces from the rest of the model so that they stand alone?
Does anyone have any good info on how this concept is typically dealt with? Do I need to change my frame of mind when working with meshes?
Thanks,
