Hi,
I've successfully been able to import straight camera data from Maya to after effects with no problem, however recently I have a project in which I'd like to have my locator animated (basically a tracking point) and import the locator data into after effects to be able to swap this out with some other elements in post. I've ran into difficulties though, when I import like I would with camera and null_"name" I get the import into ae but my locators are not in the correct position. I've never had this happen before and it's confusing because I get the animation but the null will be off to the left of the screen or something. So has this been an issue for anyone else? Has anyone solved this dilema?
Some things to mention about my animated locator in maya:
1. It was originally parented to geometry for tracking purposes
2. I baked the keys for the locator before exporting
3. I then deleted the constraiints, (hoping to cut down on import interference in AE)
So I'd love to here any suggestions anybody might have, Thanks.
