Importing Video Footage

Hello,

I am trying to import a video footage into Maya to add some special effects to it. I have tried putting it on an image plane and putting it as a texture on a polygon but it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know how I can achieve this? I would really appreciate a detailed tutorial on this.

Hi,
this usually works as long as you check the 'Use Image Sequence' tickbox in the file attributes of your movie texture. If that doesn't work, use a compositing package to convert your AVI into an image sequence, then apply the sequence as a 'File' texture.

also, make sure you're in textured view by hitting "6" otherwise you wont see a thing
