Glx is failing because your asking it to goto a resolution that the video card doesn't support.
It turns out that for some reason, that I had to do two things to get it to work properly. I am a Linux newbie, so I do not know why, but here is what I had to do to get it to work. I had to hand add the right modes(in may case 1920x1200) for 24bit depth into the xorg.conf file. Then I could select that resolution from my desktop. However, everytime I use the Display(s) interface in FC4 to set the resolution it seems to break GLX working for me. However, if I run the nvidia-xconfig utility right away it fixes the problem again. (I think it is because the nvidia utility takes out the line to load dri., the FC4 displays interface seems to add back. Just a guess)
So after this I now have my widescreen monitor working in the right mode running Shake.
Thanks for your time.
