i dont think that there's an easy way to integrate corel draw into any professional application
bit more serious though, nothing is wrong with exporting bitmaps und use those, the main decision is what maximum resolution you'll need for your elements, because too big means wasted disk space and added render time and too small will look soft/pixelated.

if the files are typical graphics i'd suggest you convert them to PNG files, which compress very nicely (lossless) while being compatible with nearly everything. avoid psd whenever possible in shake as there are many bugs.

I can certainly export in that format and a quick try resulted in just as small a file as the origianl.

As a matter of interest, what is the conventional software used to create vector type graphics for use with FCS ?

And why is Corel Draw considered an 'amateurs' product, over the years I have produced some great work with it and I don't believe it has any more progamming bugs than anything else I have used.

To be fair, I am probably doig things the hard way, as I have an artistic bent, I tend to like to produce all my own art work straight from my imagination rather than finding ways to apply clever one click artistic effects, thats probably why I get on with Corel Draw, I just use it as a short cut to the repetative number crunching aspects of artwork.

Anyway thanks for your advise, if there's a better product I could be using with FCS I would be interested in your views.

hiya,

i didn't want to put down corel draw too much, havent used it for years and years but i'm sure if you have a good skillset you can produce fantastic work.

actually hardly anybody uses vector graphics for film work, and if they do it's usually for animations or motion graphics work.. and if you're looking to do that, illustrator combined with after effects is probably your best bet (alhough i've never tried, so check for yourself first).

final cut pro is basically a timeline editor, and shake is a compositing app, neither of those is very good at animating graphics. you could give motion a spin and see how well it works for what you wanna do.

hard to give you better advice without knowing what your work is about.
