Inverting rotations

ok, a bit of a hairy maths problem here...

i'm trying to write a mirror pose script, and i need to be able to mirror a rotation across an arbitrary plane.

does anyone have any idea how to do this? its not as simple as just inverting an axis, because the plane that it mirrors across will be taken from the orientation of an object.

basically i'd like to be able to say here object A, mirror object B across object A's yz plane.

anyone?

Convert the euler rotations to a vector then mirroring that vector over an arbitrary plane isnt hard then convert that back to euler rotations.

you make it sound so easy jooja...

but what exactly do you mean, convert euler to a vector?

i guess i could always do a bit of a dodgy place 3 locators along each axis of the object to be mirrored, mirror the locator's positions, and use 3 aim constraints to convert those locator positions back into a rotation...

but tell me more about you method.

Maya includes expressions for vector roation! But yeah you could do it with constraints.

Sorry cant be more helpfull just now i have no manual at hand. And i have done it for some obscure particle calc sometimes i far as i rmeber. it wsnt too hard.
