Hello out there!

I want buy Maya 3.0 Student liscence, but i dont know if it will work well on my computer, because photoshop chruches down many times.
I got

asus P2B mainboard, 100Mhz bus, 440 BX chipset

512 MB RAM (PC100SDRAM)
P3 600 Mhz
Logitech 3 button mouse
2x 9,1 GB u2w SCSI 7200 UP
Elsa Gloria 2

Its a good computer, but i heard that there some chruchdowns by other users who have a computer like this.
On mine photoshop cruches, i dont know why.

Is it stabil for Maya?
Where cuold be problems you think?

Please help me

What i forgot : W2000 or Win NT, which one is better?

go with maya 2.5.2.......it asks for less from your system. with that said, my buddy was running maya 2.5.2 on his p3-550 machine with a gvx1 and only like 128mb of ram last year with no problems.....i was running it on a 700MHz athlon with 128mb of ram and a gvx1 and it was noticeably faster. you will be fine with your current configuration (your card is better than what we had), but don't expect amazing speeds especially using artisan or paint fx. hope that helps!

oh, and i use windows 2000.....i used to love nt for it's low overhead, but 2000 is easier to setup and a little bit faster in floating point implementation i have found (things render quicker it seems)....plus when you get bored you can play games too!
