Kubuntu+Wacom+Maya

I am using Kubuntu Linux 5.04, Maya Complete 6.5 and a Graphire3 wacom tablet. My tablet works perfectly with Gimp, I have full pressure sensativity, but for some reason Artisan will not give me pressure sensitivity at all. I have already tried changing the identifier of stylus to wacom in my xorg.conf and all that seem to do was open the option for pressure sensitivity under the tool settings. (Used to be greyed out, now I can enable it), however, I STILL don't get any pressure sensativity. This is really annoying. Please tell me some one knows a remedy

The pressure sensitivity issue has been a troublesome issue for Maya users on Linux with Wacom devices. Maya's tutorials state:

When you paint strokes in Paint Effects on Linux, your Wacom stylus and tablet may have no pressure sensitivity. Select an Artisan tool (for example, the Paint Selection Tool) and open the Tool Settings editor. Expand the Stylus Pressure section. If the Stylus Pressure options are disabled, Maya cannot find your Wacom tablet. Your tablet may be installed under the generic name "tablet."

Workaround

To fix this, go to the Wacom web site (www.wacom.com) and read the product support information for Linux."
