Laptop and Maya

Well, looked through the threads and got some info but more...

I'm looking at the Dell Inspiron 8000 with 1.13GHz P3-M, 512MB SDRAM, 30 GB HD, 32MB Geforce2Go. Will this run Maya effectively? Are there any other comparable laptop setups that would work equally if not better? Any info would be a tremendous help... Thanks!

That sounds like a pretty good setup..

I'm not sure how to define effective .. I guess it depends on the OpenGL performance of the the Geforce2go and what kindof modelling you plan to do and how dense they scenes are.

I managed to get alot of work doen on a laptop with no OpenGL acceleration by truning off things I didn't need and being patient :wink:
