Laptop recommendations

I am looking for recommendations for laptops.
If you know of anyone successful using Maya on a new/current laptop, could you please mention which laptop it is.
also any Custom components that were added.

Laptops seems so cheap powerful these days I would imagine virtually any laptop with the right graphics card could run Maya.  Correct?

I would like to hear peoples thoughts on this subject.

Wrong, laptops that are cheap are not powerful and laptops that are are neither cheap nor practical.

PS: theres something truly magical about laptops. Even if they look OK in specs they for some reason fail to deliver even half the performance of a workstation 1/2 the price for some reason. + Its not like you can get 24-32  (prefeerably 2x that) inch laptops or be willing to carry one around. Also getting decent displays gamuts and 16 gigs of memory is quite rare on laptops.
