Lattice deformer - I left an object out!

I am working on the project 2 of LEARNING MAYA book.
at one point they make you put there a lattice deformer, select all the box and link to the lattice.
I forgot to select the hinge and now everything is moving well, exept the hinge that is now frozen outside the animation...
somebody can tell me how to add the hinge to the deformer family?
I tried watch the connections, but at the point I am it look too much dangerous play with all those connections, they are really too many for my for now

please help me! for you pros it's 10 words to tell me how to join the hinge in the lattice group!

Select your object you want to add, and an object that is there already. In the hypergraph, view the up and downstream connections. Drag the SHAPE node of your object you want to add to the lattice on the ' ffd1set ' node (or whatever it is called in your scene)

Make sure you drag it onto the node with the' ffd ' on the front (should be located above a 'set#' node usually)

There you go. Object should hop into place if the lattice has been tweaked from the reset position

THANKS!!! I DID IT!
it was not that easy because the first selection and "show up and downstream connection" didn't show me the FFD1 SET node, but only the FFD1 node, and I lost some time trying to play with the connection editor that popped up
but then I tried to select FFD1 and HINGE and click again on "show up and downstream" and there poppedo out also FFD1 SET!

I wasn't clear when I said :

"...and an object that is there already..."

I meant an object that is IN the lattice already (as the up and downstream nodes will show the ffdset) Of course, you can just as easily select the lattice node as you did! But in case there were any other mysterious connections to the other objects, you could easily see them in the hypergraph to map them as well.

There is another way to do this that makes it easier to add and remove objects from the deformer set.
Open Window->Relationship Editors->Deformer Sets and you will get a list of deformer sets which you can add or remove from an object.
