yes, a broadcast monitor is good to have. but a good class A (1) is very expensive.
good for cuters ect. but for a comp team. maybe a good color true lacie would be enough if you comp for cinema film.
i have here a DELL 2405FPW. nice,big and comfortable. the black levels seems to be ok. but the whites are very bright.
the da** sh** is that the monitor have color variances. the lower right corner is redisch (less contrast) the upper right is blueisch and more contrast. so this is really funny to comp stuff. and if i have fast motions i have a motionblur where no motionblur should be. btw, my monitor is calibrated.
so i guess today it is better to use a good crt monitor for comp. at least for checking the shots.
