Light linking export

Does anyone know of a way to export and import light linking information?

We have three referenced files in one scene - and have created lighting with complex light links with fog etc.

How do we get these lights - with their links into the next 38 scenes?

Do you mean that you have identical target objects that you want copied into each scene as well? Otherwise, what are the lights linked to?

If the former is the case, then you could simply import them into each scene. You could write a simple import script that would open each scene, import the stuff you want, and then save and open the next scene...

well, you're saying a mouthful there.... &P

We have 38 shots of two chars and a set (all of which are reference objects) - all shots were animated whilst the lighting was being set-up - roughly 30 lights all light-linked to each other, the chars and the set elements.

Importing the lights is no problem - setting up the script to re-link all of the lights has proven to be very difficult and rather tedious. I was hoping there was a simple way of doing this...

If everything is named the same in each shot - why can 't I save the lights with their links and import them with their links?

So, I'm guessing that you have a single set, with a family of lights to light your set, and the only thing that is different from scene to scene are your animations? Is this the case?
