Linking Text To Globals Timerange

Hello,

I'm trying to pick up the frame range of my comp based on my globals timeRange setting (1-50 for example) and place it in a text node through an expression. I tried various things and they didn't work. Any suggestions?

Just a quicknote. You can add anything to the text node with {} around the parameter name from the Globals or a Node to get it's value.

Another nice one is {scriptName}. There are also a bunch of others for date, time, etc... in the manual under the description of the Text node.

The funny thing is that it works great when I enter {timeRange} in my script but when I turn it into a macro, it doesn't work and the macro comes up red. I tried several times and it just doesn't like it.
When I simplify my macro and use a colored frame with the number burned in the text node using this expression, and turn it into a macro, it only works when the colored frame is included in the macro (not as a separate image in.) When I tried it with my script and incorporated my image in the macro, which I really don't want to do anyway, it still breaks. When I take out the {timeRange} expression, the macro works fine. Weird. Any ideas?

Thats a bit weird. try {NRiScript1.timeRange} instead of just {timeRange}

This seems to work, although I admit I don't understand why! I tried it on a simple script at home, and will apply it to my real script at work on Monday.
