I've ran into the same problem.
Built a new Workstation (Tyan Thunder i7505 (S2665)) with Dual Xeon 2.8, 2Gig Ram, WinXP SP1, Gainward Ti4600 GeForce4 patched to Quadro 900, Logitech iTouch Keyboard and Mouse with 4 Buttons.
After installing the iTouch-Software, my old Mouseware-Software got somehow overridden that I was unable to configure my Mousebuttons. After deinstalling the Logitech-Drivers and reinstalling with the newest Versions from their site, all worked fine... ...only Maya has this odd behaviour to fallback to standard Mouse-Configuration.
I will give this a new shot this weekend, trying to de- and install different driver-versions oder unsing other keyboards or mice. I will update here, if I come to a solution.
Perhaps you can post your Hard- and Softwareconfigurations; might help to narrow the problem to a specific part.
...and if you already found a solution, please inform me as well.
Happy config,
Marco
