Hey guys-
I am wondering if it possible to create a script that would allow you to drag an object through a scene, and have it "stick" to the geometry behind it. The idea is this. Say I have created a ... car or something... and I want to go ahead and detail it with other objects.... say some spheres for lights or something. Is it possible to make a script that would force that object to "crawl" along tje surface of the object directly behind it as you drag it through the scene. My understanding of mel tells me this is not possible, but I thought I would see if any of you had any ideas.
Thanks

well yes, it actualy is but its not necceserily very effective. but you could cache the scene intoa afile heightfield thisway its pretty faast to lookup.
maybe use a geometry constraint? Your post isn't completely clear to me, but it doesn't sound like you need mel for this. Constraints and/or limits should do it?
There's also a script called rivet.mel, but I'm not sure that's what you want.
