Low poly wraps over high poly models question

Ok, so i've made this character out of polys. There's a high poly version (smoothed) and a low poly version. I've wrapped the low poly over the high poly and everything seems to work pretty good. But I've run into 1 problem. When creating a wrap for the head should I also make low poly versions of the blendshapes (facial expressions)? Right now I only have blendshapes for the high poly head and this doesn't seem like the best way to work ( it really slows down my comp. when I switch back and forth between high and low polys). What's the proper, or at least most efficient, method of doing this?

according to my intermediate maya instructor, you can make blend shapes just for the low poly model. it will speed you up of course.

im also doing poly b.s.'s and want to learn how to do multiple ones on the same face.

Yes you can it all depends on how your histry is rigged offcourse. I wish people would look at how the history looks and ocasionaly take a sab at making their own connections that way some of theese things would be ovious!

But as for the question will it work here? well it depends on what he has done and how the modell is built.

well you can always redo the blend shapes by having a wrap in the wron direction. But it would have been easier if you actualy had tought of this before bacuse modelling the blends simultaneously would have been ideal. Also thisway you might not even have needed a wrap deformer at all.

since

you could have bound the proxy similliary to the real deal and now only trensfering the deformer info would be sufficent!

Or the entire smoothed model would be a juat a tewaked downsteram history copy of your lowpoly.

both of theese methods being faster and superior in all ways! Unless you actualy planned to deform the wrap using soft bodies. even then its questionable.
