Luminance Keys Con't

Well when can please help me on this I would really like to learn how He use 3 or 4 differnet methods to pull a Key for the sky.

Becuase I can do luma key on sky but I like to know what He was talking about here
"A typical key might have 2 keys, one that grabs the core of the sky (meaning the whole areas) then another that gets the fine detail."

In one these keyer you can extract a hard matte (black and white matte with litlle grays), using other keyer you extract the matte preserving edge details. Afte this you combine the mattes using transfer modes like Add, Max and others

Ok so I take that keyer you said to extract hard matte(black and whites with the little gray so I guess this is that Luma Keyer

If so what is a good rule of thumb when use yor lo and hi to not either crush your blacks or clip your whites?

Now about the other keyer you mention where you can extract the edge details of your matte?
