Macros And Fileins

Hey all

I am have some trouble with making a macro, I am sure I am just being dumb but hear it is.

I am doing a TimeSlice type macro, I have created the script and all work the way I want it to.

This is how I have approached it, I am creating horizontal segments of footage each off set in time.

To offset each segment I am using TimeX, now that timeX requirers an new fileIn for each segment I have cloned out the original fileIn.

This all works great.

First problem is that once the macro is made I can not get footage into it, even if "imageName" and "baseFile" are made visible in the macro.

Second what if I wanted to not directly plug a fileIn in to it and want it to be down stream of a script.

any suggestions to work with would be great, I dont really want it solved for me but given some direction so that I might be able to sus it myself...

now when you are building the macro, are you starting from a base node tree in shake and saving the macro file from that and editing it after, or are you writing the .h and UI.h files by hand?

i can probably give you little bits of help, but keep looking through the user manual. i know i get a lot of things figured out from just that.

I am build from a node tree, I have had a couple of ideas bouncing around in my head like once the macro is made going into the *.h file in xcode and changing things.

I just have not had to much of a chance lately I have been moving over the past couple of weeks.

I will keep you up to date..

ick xCode haha...i got sick of xCode and started editing my macros through text edit. do you think you can post the source code from the .h and UI.h files on here? this way i can take a look and possibly get a better understanding of what it is you are doing.
