The matrix theatrical trailer is awesome! Visual effects wise- when the agent (the one in white) turns to smoke and flies into the passenger seat of the car- was that cgi? I tried to get the same look by compositing my friend into a clip of my room, then added a luma key to get the brighter parts of his contour to remain, and then animated a gaussian blur and the color correcter to make him appear luminescent in a frame to frame change- then to get the motion down, I rendered a pass in slow-mo, then 'echoed' a normal speed pass over that layer at 50% opacity using time displacement in After Effects. VERY tedious, but it turned out ok- for free no less. I wonder how much it cost to pull that off for the movie?... anyway, does anybody know how they actually did it? Any advice on how to do my way better? Makes for a good discussion, methinks. (If you haven't seen the trailer, check it out on the web page)
Thanks again!
