Maya-2009 Cancel Batch Render Not Working

I have an animation work, we made it with maya 2008 and rendered some of them in maya 2008
then our company upgraded to maya 2009, it works well but the problem is, when the batch render starts it cannot be cancelled
when I hit cancel Batch render, script editor first shows batch render cancelled then it continue rendering again.

I have the same problem and I don't understand that solution, what you mean about check firewall and everything else.

Ok, in the meantime I found a rustic solution but it works, going to the task manager you can kill the 'mayabatch.exe' process's, and that's it.
I hope this works for you.
so far it's working for me.
If you have found another solution please let me know.
