Currently I have a problem doing a batch render (200 frames) with maya 2010, it renders only the first frame and I get no failure message. Batch render the same scene in maya 8.5 gives no problems while the render globals are the same (I don't see the difference that is).
I'm kinda new to the whole rendering thingy and googled a few hours to resolve this problem, no effect. I'm hoping someone here can tell me what to do or where I can find a solution.
You're not giving us enough information to work with. I can fix it for you, but I'd need to see the scene. You can email me at michiel@thnkr.com. I'll post my findings here.
well, i'm not sure if this helps, but sometimes when i import a render from an older maya, the Render Settings are reset, and i forget to change the common render settings. You might want to check the number of frames to be rendered, AS WELL AS the naming procedure. Eg. in Maya 08, the name procedure is While Maya 09 is , Leaving it as would only render one frame. Thats all that came to mind, you might want to post a SS of your render settings or even upload your maya scene file so we can help you out more!
did you check the render settings? I mean it sounds like you missed to set the render options from "single frame" to "name.#.ext" so Maya renders from frame 1 to 200?
My render settings are ok, I checked this with aMaya Tutor. I also gave the scene to the same tutor and he rendered with the same globals as I did (but with maya 6.5) and it worked.
So I did a little test: I made a quick simple scene with a moving sphere on my laptop (maya 8.5) an did a batch render without any problems. The same setup for maya 2010 on desktop faces me with the same problem.
Is there something extra you should do in order to make a good batch render comparing to the older versions?
I've never heared about this kinda problem before... and I can't test it out cause I don't have Maya (8.5) or any older version... so if you could post a link so I can download your "test scene" made in Maya 8.5 I would try to open it in Maya2010 to test it out.
I can't promise to find the problem but I would try
hello, I am having the same problem - my maya scenes don't batch render at all, I am rendering in maya 2009 on an older computer, but 2010 doesn't do batch renders at all, is there a solution, is it even a known issue?
maya 2010 snow leopard 10.6.3 macbook pro i7 4gb ram
I was having this problem as well using Maya 2010x64 on Windows 7. I would start the batch render, but nothing would EVER happen. The script editor never showed anything, no percentage completed of any frame or anything. I uninstalled, reinstalled, installed the 32 bit version; same problem. Disconnect your computer from the internet. Problem solved.
