Maya 8.5 On Fedora Core 6 Signal 11

So here I am the happiest man on earht, just escaped Windowsland, and guess what ...
After installing Maya, disabling SeLinux, getting all the drivers, motif etc - I get this:

[dsedov@localhost ~]$ maya

maya encountered a fatal error

Signal: 11 (Unknown Signal)
Fatal Error. Attempting to save in /usr/tmp/dsedov.20070213.0052.ma

What do you guys say? I have searched everywhere, but havent found anything that would solv this =((((

i assume it might be a update for a nvidia driver that cause X to exit when you run maya.

I am having same problem, but not starting Maya, just trying to do a render! Any ideas? I have done everything listed above and in other threads...

Obtaining a stack trace goes a long way to seeing what is crashing, and possibly why.
run Maya under gdb to get a stack trace. If rendering

maya -d gdb
r -render sceneFile.ma

bt <when crash occurs)

If rendering without X running Maya prior to 8.5SP1 may crash when using the default Mesa OpenGL drivers
