Maya 8.5 On Fedora8 Vs Win 2k - Save As Command

Hi All,

I recently switched to Fedora 8 after using win 2K for years

Anyway, I noticed that when I try and save a .ma file on win2K with Maya 8.5 it takes like 3 seconds, while on Fedora the same taks takes almost 30seconds!

Is this normal? Why does it take so long? Any ideas welcome.
