Maya file extension icons location?

It may sound a little silly but where are the icons for maya file extensions stored ? I was trying to open a MEL file with Notepad++ and it messed up the icon, Is there any way to change it to the default ? I m using Maya 2014

If it's on windows, the linking of icons is done automatically by setting its default application. You can set it back to default by selecting a mel script, RMB, open with application > Maya, make sure to check the tickbox 'as default application'. I'm on mac at the minute, so the names I provided are not exact.
