Hi,
I am quite new to maya so I shall try and explain my best my current issue
I had an old pc which I was running maya fine and dandy I could render high resolution texture at 21k no problem using maya hardware to render
I bought a new pc with all the bells and whistles and put in the same graphics card I had on my old pc, GeForce 610 I think.
Now what seems to be happening when running the same maya file with all the same textures is that it does not render the png and tga files assigned to the spheres.
Trying to make a simple Earth 3D Model that had earth colour, specular, bump and also another sphere with clouds and transparency and final sphere for the atmosphere
I have got to s stage now where I can render a sphere individually with the texture but it does not seem to apply any transparency.
Checking on google lots of suggestions to ensure that transparency maps are ticked on, which they are.
This works fine for software rendering but as the textures applied are so large software can not render them as they are too big
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I am missing to allow for 3 textured spheres to be rendered in one go with transparency being applied in hardware rendering?
What baffles me more is that this worked better on my old pc that had a quarter of the processing power and RAM so i am hoping that this is simply a setting that needs to be sorted out
Any feedback is more than welcome
Many thanks
