Maya iff files crash Combustion 3

I have downloaded a trial version of Combustion 3, and stability seems to b a major isssue again for this product.

I have tried to load in differant MAYA .iff sequences and combustion keeps on crashing. Any solutions.

Would you be able to zip up some sample IFF files and upload them on a server so that I may download them and test them with combustion 3?

I also found this to be true recently. I noticed that it was 'certain' to crash c3 when both a z and alpha channel were included in the .iff

Other crashes seemed to occur on first file access (perhaps on c3 creating a thumbnail either in heirarchy or import browser), as the files usually load successfully when restarting c3 immediately after a crash .

Maya 5.0 on win2k

I had this problem... Discreet support told me that Combustion does not support the Maya IFF file format. Use something else!

Well, very nice, what a great advertisement for C3!!!
What fileformat does the discreet support suggest to use ???
The Combustion we work with does not only crash if we want to use iff's (including z-buffer), but it additionally rejects the z-buffer info of any RLA files!
I don't know any other filetype that includes a z-buffer and can be rendered with Maya...

What chance do we have to solve that [censored]?
Probably using another compositing software, which can handle basic stuff like that.

I wanted to add that I have Combustion 3 and Maya 4.03 and can't import iff either on Win2k SP4.

I had assumed that I could and as you can't return software I'm stuck with this. I would like to know if a patch is available etc as well!

Please try the new combustion 3.02 patch for windows with regards to this problem and let me know if it works now.

Thanks for the heads up on that patch release.

C3.02 will now work with iff files! even those generated from older versions of Maya.
