i think the view z scripting is just for viewing (the normal,standard, distance setting), it does nothing to the actual z channel.
the shake user tutorial just mentioned the z view scripting and the maya 0/-1 z channel, it didn't say how to change it, only said download the macro from highend
the tutorial in the highend here about the z is great, and it actually tell us how to change it using the color mult. question again, isn't that by using the color mult () we will push the distance further away ? say 1 and 0.5, the distance is 0.5. but if we mult () it by 10, now it become 10 and 5, the distance now apart now become 5 (although the % still remain the same). is it better to use add instead ? 1 + 10, and 0.5 + 10, the distance apart still 0.5 (of course, we need to *-1 to turn it positive first).
