Hi, I am trying to find a command that returns the Maya install directory.
I have searched the maya help, search in this forum I even tried a google search, so far I couldn't find anything.
My workaround so far is to use the command whatIs renderWindowPanel and analyse the return of this command to figure out the maya install directory... but I would like something more elegant.
Thanks for your help
KUDOS!
Thanks
I have tried getenv MAYA_APP_DIR, MAYA_DIR, etc. but not this one.
BTW do you have a list of all the "hidden" environment variable in Maya. I never could get it from Alias.
Hi dude
what ever in maya you can get it
maybe reading help very deatil then you can get it
goto maya help-> Developer Resources-->>Environment variables
then Standard paths there u can read like this
For the system PATH variable, Maya adds $MAYA_LOCATION/bin.
so me add a command "getenv" thts all then MAYA_LOCATION
for env we have 3 commands "getenv, setenv, putenv"
so we can get anything from maya help
i think like that
enjoy
