Maya Performance Question

I am about to buy the Quad G5 Powermac and also am looking into FINALLY getting Maya (complete for starters) . I am a 12 year Electric Image Animation System User and want to diversify my toolset. My question is performance. EI will render twice as fast on this Quad G5 mac. Cinema 4d and lightwave are even better than that. 

But I joined this forum to get answers on mayas performance with multiple processors.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

just like ellectric image the gui isnt multithreaded sp the only impact on yoru gui speed comnes form the graphics card + one proc prettymuch, this means you get better proformance out of pc sytem because the individual processor is faster.

Hwoever rendering does multithread so its about 4 times foaster. Ok so its notrealy all that straightforward.
