Maya: sh Maya comand not found

hello all i am just wondering if you know how to fix the problem of maya and batch render, every time I run batch render i get an error in the renderlog saying maya: command not found,

and also how do i make the sh shell command recognize maya, i have added it as an alias, and it does work from the shell, i.e. i type maya and it works from the command, however, if i type sh maya, it says maya is a directory.

does any know how to fix this. iv got everything to work but just not the batchrender, and the playblast. oh dear....

please help me,I AM NOT SWITCHING BACK to windows no matter what.

do you have either sh, csh, or tcsh installed? Many linux's only come with bash installed.

hello,

I found the fix in the end, i knew it was something to do with maya not beeing trigered/exec when the bachrender starts,

the fix was to add this line in "bashrc"

first: sudo gedit ~/.bashrc

then add this line:
alias maya="/usr/aw/maya6.5/bin/maya"

and then add another line in "bash_profile"

sudo gedit ~/.bash_profile

add this line: source .bashrc

and then add a sym link between maya6.5 and maya.

sudo ln -s /usr/aw/maya6.5/bin/Maya6.5 /usr/aw/maya6.5/bin/maya

and that done it.

thought i would put this down, i did get it from another forum somewhere, but i lost the link, so i do apologies to the author.

also, I have yet to get the playblast to work, it always gives me a msg that the buffer could not able to allocated, or something like that,

does any one know if the usr/tmp/ directory causes this problem, i did chmod that directory to 777,
